Harvest Sharing Hut
The Harvest Sharing Hut is a community initiative that gives and receives abundant harvests of fresh fruit and vegetables from local farmers and gardeners. Every Tuesday from June to Thanksgiving, volunteers help make this fresh local produce available to everyone, free of charge, on Maud Street in Enderby. This is one of many fantastic programs organized by the Enderby & District Community Resource Centre.
THE ROLE
- Help receive and weigh donated fruit and vegetables
- Display fresh produce on tables for community members to select
- Help set up and take down tables and canopies
- Connect with local farmers, gardeners and community members
- Help reduce food waste and make fresh local produce accessible to everyone
- Volunteer Tuesdays
- Some setup and takedown tasks require strength, so volunteers who are comfortable with heavier lifting are especially appreciated
