Researcher/Board Member

Enderby & District museum & archives

We collect, document, preserve, exhibit and interpret a collection of representative objects and supporting archival material relevant to the human and natural development of the City of Enderby and surrounding district. We provide locals and visitors with the opportunity to explore and understand the development of this community with exhibits, education programs and publications. Established in 1973, we are operated by a volunteer board of directors.

THE ROLE

  • You get to call yourself a local historian
  • We try to match each volunteer’s interests and abilities with the tasks that need to be done at the museum
  • Very flexible with volunteer hours
  • With many different jobs, it is easy to pivot to another task if one gets tedious or you need a change
  • There are numerous opportunities including: research, writing historical articles for our newsletter and Facebook posts, fundraising, updating historical files, property inventory files and family trees, developing educational programs, encapsulating maps, organizing a historical presentation, interviewing long-time residents, developing displays and sitting on the board of directors.
