Feed enderby & district food bank
FED (Feed Enderby & District) is a food bank serving Enderby, BC and the nearby rural area. Our mission is to provide food to people and families who are food-insecure, who may be hungry, or unable to put nutritious food on the table. Some food recipients have a short-term problem: loss of a job, sickness, an unexpected move…and need temporary help to get them through a rough spot. Others have longer-term needs.
Whatever the need, volunteers at FED will do their best to help.
THE ROLE
- There are two types of regular, twice monthly volunteer opportunities:
- Prepacking (2nd and 3rd Mondays, each month) where Volunteers help receive, sort, shelve, and repackage foods to prepare for distribution the following day. Typical shift runs from 8:15-9:30am.
- Distribution (2nd and 3rd Tuesdays, each month) where Volunteers assist in handing out food to clients at assigned stations.
- Typical shift is 1.5 hours between 8am-2pm.
- Extra Help: Some Volunteers prefer to sign on as extra help for food drives and events or picking up food.
- Come work alongside like-minded people, while making a real, tangible impact on your community.
